The Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, decided to constitute a five-judge Constitution bench to hear petitions against the validity of the Aadhaar in Adhar linkage case where adhaar linking is made mandatory by the government to get benefits in social beneficiary schemes.
Recently, a nine-judge Constitution bench had held that the Right to Privacy was a Fundamental Right under the 21 Article of the Constitution.
