- The Sixteenth Finance Commission, led by Arvind Panagariya, set up a five-member Advisory Council.
- It is aimed at expanding the scope of the Commission's work.
- This panel will be chaired by Poonam Gupta, who currently serves as the Director General of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
- The other members are:
- D.K. Srivastava
- Neelkanth Mishra
- Pranjul Bhandari
- Rahul Bajoria.
