- A floating solar project at Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu has been set up by leading fertilizer manufacturer Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Ltd.
- The unit is claimed to be India’s largest and first floating power plant in Tamil Nadu.
- Greenam Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AM International, owns this project.
- Yearly, this plant can generate 42.0 million units of electricity.
