- The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) in partnership with Intel India have launched a first of its kind research initiative.
- It is called as ‘Fund for Industrial Research Engagement (FIRE)’
- This initiative helps in advance deep tech-based research in India.
- This will help the Indian research community to pursue industry-relevant research opportunities in areas of deep technologies. (Like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Language, etc.)
- Science and Engineering Research Board is a statutory body under Department of Science & Technology.
- ‘FIRE’ is a joint government and industry initiative with a co-funding mechanism.
