For the first time, India will host the annual G20 summit in 2022 (17th) confirmed at the closing ceremony of the 13th summit (30 November and 1 December 2018) held in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.
It is India's 75th Independence Day in 2022, and India had requested Italy to get 2022 instead of 2021 (for hosting G20 summit).
India presented a nine-point agenda to G20 countries at the concluded summit, calling for “strong and active cooperation” among them to comprehensively deal with fugitive economic offenders.
India suggested that the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to assign priority and focus on establishing international cooperation, timely and comprehensive exchange of information.
