The two-day Summit of the G77+China concluded recently in Cuba.
The theme of the event is “Current Development Challenges: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation.
The summit saw the adoption of the 47-article Havana Final Declaration.
This is aimed at all countries in the Global South defend the demands of developing countries amid the geopolitical divide while emphasizing on making the Global South a powerful force in the multipolar world.
As many as 134 members, including India, the G77 is the largest intergovernmental group of developing nations.
It’s called G77 Plus China because while China works closely with the group.
The block represents more than 80 percent of the world’s population and two-thirds of the United Nations membership.
