- The centennial year of the Mahatma ‘changing his attire to dhoti’ was celebrated on 22, September.
- An incident on September 22nd of 1921 at Madurai made Gandhi to wear dhoti.
- Commemorating this occasion, Ramraj Cotton organised a grand event ‘Dhoti 100’ at Tirupur.
- 100 martyrs and 100 weavers were honoured and 100 saplings were planted on the occasion.
- Dancers from Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai, performed a traditional dance drama on ‘Gandhiya Vazhiyil RamRaj’.
