- The aquatic life forms found in the 2525-km-long Ganga river would be preserved in the country’s first ‘Ganga Centralised Aqualabs’.
- It will be established at Wildlife Institute of India (WII) in Dehradun.
- The aqualab, first of its kind for any river in the country, will
- Maintain genes of each species found in the river.
- Record baseline data of the river.
- Tributaries of Ganga like Gomti, Betwa and Kosi will also be scientifically studied and their biological components will be preserved at the lab.
