- The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), in coordination with the Jal Shakti Ministry, organized ‘Ganga Utsav’ in the Major Dhyanchand stadium in the national capital.
- Ganga Utsav is celebrated on November 4 because Ganga was declared as the country’s national river on this day.
- This utsav is celebrated to mark the 11th anniversary of Ganga being declared as the national river in 2008.
- The event was organized in a bid to create awareness and gather public participation in the efforts to clean River Ganga and its tributaries.
