“Ganga Vriksharopan Abhiyan”

- National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) organised “Ganga Vriksharopan Abhiyan” in five main stream Ganga basin states – Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
- This week-long afforestation drive was organised during July 9 to July 15, 2018 as ‘Shubharambh Saptah’.
- State Forest Departments of the 5 basin states were made the nodal agencies.
- Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) were made the district level Nodal Officers and Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) at the State level for organizing the events.
