- Oscar-winning illustrator and animator, Gene Deitch, has recently passed away at Prague in Czech Republic.
- Deitch was known for creating animated cartoons such as Munro, Tom Terrific, and Nudnik, as well as his work on the Popeye and Tom and Jerry series.
