Former football star George Weah has won Liberia’s presidential run-off with a projected 61.5 per cent of the vote according to the country’s election commission.
Mr Weah had ran for office in 2005 and won the first round before losing the second round to Africa’s first female President, Nobel Peace Prize victor Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who is stepping down after two terms.
