- A consensus had been reached between the three countries (Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt) over the Giant Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
- The dam will not be filled unilaterally by Ethiopia.
- Ethiopia started construction for the dam on the Blue Nile river.
- Blue Nile river originates from Lake Tana in Ethiopia and flows downstream through Sudan to Egypt.
