- Singapore's passport has been announced as the most powerful in the world. It is the first time that an Asian country has occupied the first place in the index.
- India’s passport was ranked 75th among 94 countries in the recently released Global Passport Power Rank 2017 and has improved 3 rankings compared to last year.
- The index ranks passports worldwide based on the cross-border access a holder has.
- It was developed by Canada based global consultancy Arton Capital.
- Germany listed in second place with its citizens able to visit 158 countries.
