- Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Meyyanathan has said that the state government jobs will be awarded to the Tamil Nadu athletes Suba Venkatesan and Thanalakshmi who participated in the Olympics.
- He also said that Olympic academies would be set up in 4 places in Tamil Nadu to train Tamil Nadu athletes in international standards.
