- IAS officer Shah Faesal has been reinstated in service after the government accepted his application for the same.
- Faesal has submitted his resignation in January 2019.
- He had founded the J&K People’s Movement (JKPM), a political party in March 2019
- He was detained under the stringent Public Safety Act immediately after the abrogation of the special status of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
- He was released from detention on June 3, 2020.
