- The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has declared that the provision of mandatory hallmarking of precious metals like gold jewellery and artifacts will be effective from 1st June 2021.
- Hallmarking is a certification process for accurate determination and official recording of precious metal.
- It ensures the purity and fineness of the metal.
