Hamas, Fatah ink deal on Palestinian reconciliation

- Rival Palestinian political parties Hamas and Fatah have signed reconciliation deal in an effort to end a decade-long rift which was brokered by Egypt in cairo.
- The agreement states that legislative, presidential and national council elections should be conducted within one year of its signing.
- The reconciliation deal was signed to implement a unity agreement that was signed in 2011, but not put into action.
