Horticultural Crops - Final Estimates of 2020-21

  • The information regarding the Final Estimates of 2020-21 and First Advance Estimates of 2021-22 of Area and Production of various Horticultural Crops have been released by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
  • Total Horticulture production in 2020-21: 334.60 Million Tonne (estimated), an increase of about 14.13 Million Tonne (4.4 percent) from 2019-20.
  • Production of Fruits: 102.48 Million Tonne (estimated). In 2019-20 it was 102.08 Million Tonne.
  • Production of Vegetables: 200.45 Million Tonne (estimated) which is a 6.5 percent increase compared to 2019-20 production of 188.28 Million Tonne.
  • Production of Onion: 26.64 Million Tonne. In 2019-20 it was 26.09 Million Tonne.
  • Production of Potato: 56.17 Million Tonne (estimated) in 2020-21, which is an increase of 7.61 Million Tonne from 2019-20.
  • Production of Tomato: 21.18 Million Tonne, in 2019-20 it was 20.55 Million Tonne.
  • Aromatic & Medicinal crops: 12.4 percent increase to 0.83 Million Tonne in 2020-21 from 0.73 Million Tonne in 2019-20.
  • Production of Plantation Crops: 16.63 Million Tonne in 2020-21, in 2019-20 it was 16.12 Million Tonne.
  • Production of Spices: 9.7 percent increase to 11.12 Million Tonne in 2020-21 from 10.14 Million Tonne in 2019-20.
  • Total Horticulture production in 2021-22: 333.3 Million Tonne (estimated), which is a 0.4 percent decrease of about 1.35 Million Tonne over 2020-21 (Final).
