- The U.S. State Department has released its 2019 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report based on International Labour Organisation’s data.
- India was placed in Tier 2 on the country trafficking scale.
- The Palermo protocols is the international framework which aims to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons, especially women and children.
- It was introduced by the UN in 2000.
