- The Richard Branson-led Virgin Group on Sunday signed a framework agreement with Maharashtra to build a hyperloop transportation system between Mumbai and Pune.
- It would reduce travel time between the two cities to just 25 minutes from the three hours at present.
- The proposed hyperlook transportation system will link central Pune with Navi Mumbai international airport.
- The proposed loop will be a fully electric system and will have the capability travel up to 1,000 km per hour.
- Hyperloop Technology is dubbed as fifth mode of transportation. It envisages tube modular transport system that runs free of friction.
