- Russia is the only country in the world that has hypersonic weapons.
- The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, revealed the new zircon missile at a meeting of senior military officials in Moscow.
- The Zircon missile, can fly from land to land in 10 times faster than the speed of sound, has a range of more than 2,000 kilometres (1,250 miles).
- It also capable to carry a nuclear or conventional warhead.
- Recently China has been testing its hypersonic aircraft.
