- The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has introduced manual checks in IGST refunds to prevent frauds and loss to exchequer.
- The Government has assured all genuine exporters that they would continue to get IGST refunds in a timely manner in a fully automated environment.
- IGST is levied for interstate transfer of goods.
- It is shared between Union and state governments.
