- The FAO & International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) published a report “Scientific review of the impact of climate change on plant pests”
- The report was prepared by Maria Lodovica from the University of Turin in Italy alongside 10 co-authors.
- The focus of this report is to outline the potential effects of climate change on plant pests, and hence on plant health.
- According to the report as much as 40 per cent of the world’s agricultural crops are lost to pests each year.
