- Gap between life expectancy at birth and life expectancy at one year or five year is largest in states like Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
- Madhya Pradesh has the highest IMR of 43.
- Uttar Pradesh has second highest IMR of 38.
- Odisha witnessed the highest increase from 45.7 to 69.8.
- Odisha is followed by Tamil Nadu which witnessed the increase from 49.6 to 72.6.
- Uttar Pradesh had the 2nd lowest life expectancy at birth of 65.6 years.
- Chhattisgarh is with life expectancy of 65.3.
- Kerala is the only state where rural life expectancy at birth is higher as compared to urban for both women and men.
- Bihar and Jharkhand are the only states where male life expectancy is higher than women in both urban and rural areas.
