India – ASEAN Troika Trade Ministers’ meeting was held in New Delhi today for informal consultation on the ongoing Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
The meeting was attended by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Railways, Piyush Goyal.
He stressed that market access issues with China for Indian goods have been particularly problematic.
RCEP is a proposed free trade agreement between
10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam)
6 Indo-Pacific states with which ASEAN has existing free trade agreements (China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand).
