- Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh virtually inaugurated the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline.
- This is the first cross border energy pipeline between India and Bangladesh.
- The 131.57Km long pipeline runs from Siliguri, West Bengal to Parbatipur, Bangladesh.
- The Pipeline has a capacity to transport 1 Million Metric Ton Per Annum (MMTPA) of High-Speed Diesel (HSD).
- The fuel transport deal will be effective for 15 years with an option for further extension.
