The Golden Jubilee of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan is being celebrated in the year 2018.
Earlier, to mark this occasion, India and Bhutan jointly unveiled the ‘logo for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations in Thimphu and New Delhi through video conference.
Meshed together in an unbreakable bond, the logo has two symbols of the countries- 5 is represented with Bhutan’s national color wrapped in dragon; while 0 (zero) is completed by the India’s tri-color. It highlights 50th anniversary of friendship.
Diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan were established in 1968 with the establishment of a special office of India in Thimphu.
The basic framework of India- Bhutan bilateral relations was the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation signed in 1949 between the two countries, which was revised in February 2007.
