- The Indian and Chinese troops have clashed at two points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) recently.
- The incidents took place in the Naku La sector in Sikkim and in a contested area near Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh.
- Naku La sector is located ahead of Muguthang or Cho Lhamu (source of River Teesta).
- Pangong Tso is a salt water lake formed from Tethys geosyncline.
- One-third of this water body is in Indian control while the rest is under Chinese control.
