- India is elected as the vice president of the International Organisation of Aids to Marine Navigation (IALA).
- India will also host the IALA Council meeting in December 2025 and the IALA Conference & General Assembly in September 2027 in Mumbai.
- IALA was established in 1957 as a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
- It offers the opportunity to exchange and compare their experiences and their achievements in the marine field.
