- India Smart Cities Conclave 2023 was organised in Indore.
- Indore bagged the prestigious honour of ‘Best Smart City’.
- Gujarat’s Surat came second while Agra in Uttar Pradesh secured the third position among the smart cities of India.
- Madhya Pradesh was also adjudged Best State in the country.
- Tamil Nadu came second.
- Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh together bagged the third position.
- The Coimbatore Corporation got three first prizes – for financial operations, for model roads and for lake restoration.
- The Thanjavur Corporation got the third prize for projects on cultural development and upkeep of the town’s history.
- The Tuticorin Corporation got the third prize for digitisation of schools.
