- India to stage WTA event after five years with Mumbai Open tournament. It will be an opportunity for players to get some crucial points ahead of the Australian Open. Players ranked between 11 and 50 will compete in the event.
- Meanwhile, the Mumbai Tennis Association, has recently brought ‘Chennai Open’ (India’s only ATP) to Pune. The event is renamed as ‘Maharastra Open’.
