- The Indian Air Force (IAF), also known as the “Bhartiya Vayu Sena” is the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces celebrated its 85th anniversary.
- It was officially established on October 8, 1932 and has a primary responsibility of securing the Indian airspace as well as to carry out the aerial warfare during any clash.
- It ranks as the fourth largest air force in the world.

- World War II (1939-1945)
- Indo-Pakistani War of 1947
- Operation Vijay (1961-Annexation of Goa)
- Sino-Indian War (1962)
- Indo-Pakistan War of 1965
- Operation Cactus (1988 in Maldives)
