- Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar has launched the Indo-French year of Environment along with his French counterpart.
- It will be based on 5 major themes over the period 2021-2022
- Climate change,
- Environmental protection,
- Sustainable urban development,
- Biodiversity conservation, and
- The development of renewable energies and energy efficiency.
