- India will be participating in a major army games event alongside Pakistan and China in Russia and six other countries
- The annually held event, International Army Games 2018, will be conducted from July 28 to August 11 in Russia, China, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, and Kazakhstan.
- The military games, initiated by Russia in 2014, will be co-organised this year by China, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Armenia.
- The Indian Armed Forces have been participating in the Army Games since its inception.
- This year, two events (Tank Biathlon and Elbrus Ring) will see full participation from the Indian side.
- Armenia and Iran will be hosting competitions on their territory for the first time.
