- International Chefs Day was initiated in 2004.
- It was created by the late Dr. Billy Gallagher, a renowned chef and businessman.
- He was the President of the South African Chefs Association for 21 years.
- Dr Gallagher also became the President of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) in 1996.
- The theme for this year is “Growing A Healthy Future.”
