- Two-day long 5th International Dam Safety Conference 2019 was held in Bhubaneswar, odisha.
- The conference was a part of the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) assisted by World Bank envisages rehabilitation of 223 dams in seven States.
- 26 large dams in Odisha are covered under DRIP for rehabilitation including construction of an additional spill way for the Hirakud dam at Rs 600 crores.
