On 24th July, 2023 the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted the UN Resolution for this day.
This day aims to emphasize the importance of caregiving, recognize the contributions of caregivers, and advocate for policies and initiatives that support and enhance care in all its forms.
It acknowledges the disproportionate burden of unpaid care and domestic work on women and girls.
