- Since 1995 the first Saturday of July is observed the world over as UN International Day of Cooperatives.
- The event underscores the contributions of the cooperative movement in resolving the major problems addressed by the United Nations.
- Theme of celebration for 2019 is “Coops 4 Decent Work”.
