International Day of World’s Indigenous People 2024 - August 09

The day is intended to raise awareness about the needs of indigenous peoples.
It also gives Indigenous peoples the opportunity to communicate their thoughts and issues on a worldwide scale.
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared this special day in 1994.
This year’s theme is “Protecting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact”.
