The International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists is an UN-recognized day observed annually on 2 November.
The day draws attention to the low global conviction rate for violent crimes against journalists and media workers, who plays a crusial role in informing and influencing the public about important social issues.
To mark this year International Day, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) launched an initiative to fuel awareness on the issue of journalists killed on the job called “Truth Never Dies”.
