International Gibbon Day - October 24

  • It was originated in 2015 when the IUCN Primate Specialist Group established the day as a commemoration to draw public attention to gibbon protection.
  • There is a total of 20 different species of gibbons, also called small apes (not monkeys).
  • They live in the rainforests of Bangladesh, India, China, and Indonesia.
