- International Holocaust Remembrance Day was observed all over the world on 27th January 2019.
- The day commemorates the tragedy of the Holocaust that occurred during the 2nd World War.
- 27th January was designated as the International holocaust Remembrance Day by the UNGA resolution on 1st November 2005 in the 42nd Plenary session.
- On 27 January 1945, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, was liberated by the Red Army.
