- International Mine Awareness Day and Assistance in Mine Action 2019 was observed on April 4, 2019.
- In 2005, the UN General Assembly declared that 4th April of each year shall be observed as the International Day for Mine Awareness.
- The theme of this year was ‘United Nations Promotes SDGs – Safe Ground – Safe Home’.
- The theme links mine action, converting mine fields into safe sporting grounds and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
