- For sixth year in a row, India leads in global internet shutdowns with 116 internet shutdowns in 2023.

- In 2023, 39 countries saw internet shutdowns. Pakistan had 7 shutdowns while Iraq had 6.
- Twelve shutdowns in six countries, including India, were ordered to prevent cheating in exams.
