- Indian Olympic Association (IOA) finally granted recognition to Boxing Federation of India (BFI) as a national body.
- Earlier Indian sports ministry has banned Indian Amateur Boxing Federation as its affiliate to work as national body for wrestling.
- The BFI, already recognised by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) and the Sports Ministry,so finally got the IOA’s nod to work as a national body.
