- Face recognition technology developed using Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been installed in Bengaluru, Manmad and Bhusawal railway stations as trial basis.
- The objective of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) is to link the facial recognition system with existing databases and identify the criminals.
- Indian Railways is also in the process of installing Internet Protocol (IP) based Video Surveillance System (VSS) at railway stations.
