The legislative elections were held in Israel in September to elect the 120 members of the twenty-second Knesset (Israel Parliament).
After the election the incumbent Prime Minister took charge to form the government in Israel.
However, he has to prove his majority in the Knesset.
Following the previous elections in April, incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a governing coalition, the first such failure in Israeli history.
This election marked the first time that the Knesset voted to dissolve itself before a government had been formed.
