South Africa's highest court sentenced former President Jacob Zuma to 15 months in jail for failing to appear at a corruption inquiry recently.
After this, Jacob Zuma asked the court to annul his 15-month jail sentence, saying it was excessive, unjust and might kill him if he catches COVID-19 in prison.
He have now won a reprieve from imminent imprisonment after the country’s most senior judges agreed to hear his challenge to a 15-month jail sentence awarded.
