- Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat held a review meeting with Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
- The mission is under implementation in partnership with States to provide drinking water to every rural household of the country.
- Tamil Nadu is planning 100 per cent coverage by 2024 to accomplish the target of providing tap connection to every rural household of the State.
- Out of one crore 26 lakh rural households in Tamil Nadu, around 26 per cent of the household are provided with tap connections.
- In 2020-21, Tamil Nadu has planned to provide tap connections in around 34 lakh households.
